Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. is her father, director of an online company and businessman. She was raised in the exclusive Upper East Side of Manhattan in a Catholic family. As a result, her parents enrolled the Convent of the Sacred Heart an eminent religious school. She was very fond of music from the time she was an infant. She learned how to play the piano, and when she was thirteen, she composed her first music. She was a part of the open mic night. Her favourite singers are queen Michael Jackson Madonna David Bowie. After high school, she entered New York University's Tisch School of Art to learn about music. Although she was not able to complete her studies and she resigned from the school to begin her music career.
